Attachments 3 for Joomla 2.5+ and 3.x: No navigation after mess. Warning! Really delete attachment? on articles with attachementenrico maregatti
We are facing some troubles with your Attachment component.

Let's explain: once we add an attachment (both via front-end or back-end) leaving the attachment visible (e.g. at the bottom) of the article, when you reach that page/article you obtain a window with the following message:

Warning! Really delete attachment?
(name of attachment)

At that point we are not able to navigate anywhere. If we try to delete that window and click any other voice of the menu we get again the same message in a similar window and web site stop working.

This issue happens in different web sites of our customer.

Please also consider the comment below:
If we add the attachments from back end of your component and links them directly to the article without showing the files in the article, in that case there is no problem at all. So, the problem it happears only when we make available the attachments within the article.

We are using Attachments version 3.2.4 on Joomla! 3.6.5, Helix3 Framework and Template

We hope you can help us in fixing this issue.

Thank you in advance.

Attachments 3 for Joomla 2.5+ and 3.x: as superuser logged in I can't download attachmentsJojo Murer

Hi, I wrote this in github too but no answer.

I uninstalled and reinstalled attachment extension but problem persists:

When I am logged in frontend as superuser I can't download the attachedOn file. Instead I get a window: do you really want to delete this file.

And on all buttons of the site I get the same notice. I can even not logout.

Why is this? and how can I find a solution?

On Joomla 3.6.5 (but was earlier too).

Attachments 3 for Joomla 2.5+ and 3.x: Re: Is this project discontinued?janji me

Yes, the latest update was on May 07 2016.

But unfortunately, there's no way to get some help. I really would need some support.

I uninstalled  Attachments but can't reinstall it. I removed all plugin entries and deleted the folder in Components. But when I try to reinstall, I get this warning about an installation error:

J!Research: Re: Anchor links to reference listLuis Galárraga

Hi Guillaume,

Could you elaborate more on this? What do you mean with the "reference list at the end of the document". Do you know that JResearch has a citation plugin that allows to cite publications in Joomla! articles (and other J!Research items) and compile a reference list? Is that what you need?

Cheers,

Luis

User Article Manager: Re: force user to create article in a specific categoryRobbie Williams

Attachments 3 for Joomla 2.5+ and 3.x: Re: Multiple Uploads ssnobben ssnobben

Eric,

Thank you for the request.   Currently, multiple uploads are not possible.  I do know that this is a desired feature and it is on my list of future improvements.

If your main goal is to upload a lot of files and you do not really care what article they are attached to, perhaps Attachments is not the best extension for your purposes --- you might consider more general upload/document management extensions such as Docman.

yes I think multiple upload of a least a few attachment would be a time saver..cheers!

As the title says, is this project discontinued?

It is unlisted on JED:

Attachments 3 for Joomla 2.5+ and 3.x: Is there a way to only show the "add attachment" on one specific pageMegan MacHattie

So in the past I have set the Hide 'Add Attachments' link to No to have the "Add Attachments" show up on the bottom of the page (for authors only).  I would really only like this to appear on one or two pages of my site and not on ever single page.  It is not possible to train the users that will be adding attachments to click the edit article button and then add the attachment there, it really does need to be a link at the bottom of that page.  I just hate how it asthetically looks on every page.  Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me

Attachments 3 for Joomla 2.5+ and 3.x: Re: Attachments messes front end editingChris Brown

I've also repeated this issue using the Protostar template

Attachments 3 for Joomla 2.5+ and 3.x: Attachments messes front end editingChris Brown

When there is a file attached to a page, if I am logged in the front end and navigate to the page to edit it, when I click the edit link rather than going to the page edit window it opens the attacment edit window in a lightbox.

All the links on the page then behave the same way (including the menu buttons etc).

Effectively you cannot edit a page that has an Attachment on it
