Installation:
- Install this plugin as usual.
- in Joomla!s Admin-Backend goto 'Extensions'-'Plugin Manager' click in column 'Plugin Name' on 'Content-pPGallery' adjust the desired settings and activate the plugin.
How to use:
- All images have to be placed/uploaded in Joomla!s 'images' directory or it's subfolder(s). This is the default folder/path when using Joomla!s 'Media-Manager'
- Insert {ppgallery}*folder* or *images*{/ppgallery} in the content/article where the gallery shall appear.
- *Folder*:
If *folder* is used, all valid and supported images in the specified folder are displayed in order of their filenames. The 'root-path' is taken from Joomla!s 'Global configuration-Path to Media Folder' (Backend-Site-Global configuration-System-Media settings-Path to Media Folder).
Syntax: {ppgallery}folder/subfolder{/ppgallery}
»Example (Folders)
For having displayed a 'caption'- and/or 'description'-text with the thumbnails and images (if selected in the parameter settings), a text/csv-file can be placed in the same image directory/folder. For specifications and example refer to:
»Example text/csv file
- *Images*:
If inserting *images* directly into the content/article, wrap
{ppgallery}...{/ppgallery} around the inserted image(s) or image-tags
»Example (wysiwyg-editor)
»Example (no-editor)
The images 'alt'-attribute (for caption) and 'title'-attribute (for description) can be used and will be displayed with the thumbnails and images (if selected in the parameter settings)
- Thumbnails will be saved -for better performance- in Joomla!s cache-folder and will be (re-)builded only if the images were modified or thumbnail-parameters have been changed. If needed, all thumbnails can be deleted at once via the backend-admin-panel (->'tools-clean cache').
- Inline »parameter overrides are available for all thumbnail-, folder- and prettyPhoto parameters.
- Adjusting the »width and height parameters in combination with the 'fixed thumbnail spacing' will result in different thumbnail sizes which has influence on the gallery layout.
- For the different thumbnail layouts/styles refer to »thumbnail layouts.
More detailed information about each parameter setting can be found »here as well as in the popup help text of the plugin parameter settings pane in Joomla!s Admin-backend.

Remarks:
Since pPGallery is based on 'prettyPhoto' lightbox display engine which is using jQuery libraries, it might lead to conflics when having templates and other extensions running with the same or other js-libraries. Some of these conflicts can be avoided with selecting 'no conflict'-mode to 'yes' (default), -e.g. in purity-based templates the right-module collapsing feature-, and some may not!
