Redirect Failed Logins
Version 1.6x of the plugin works with Joomla 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5 - not Joomla 1.5 .
Version 1.5x of the plugin works with Joomla 1.5 only .
This little plugin allows you to redirect any failed login attempts to another page. The latest version can deter hackers by adding a programmable time delay after a failed login attempt. Upon a failed login attempt, you can redirect to a URL in your Joomla site, redirect to a completely different site, or not redirect at all (default). Optionally, you can also have it display a message such as "Login Failed - please try again".
Adds 3 important features:
1) Allows you redirect failed login attempts to a custom page on your joomla site, or even to a page on another website.
2) Adds a time delay on login failures - to discourage brute force login attacks on your site. The default delay is 10 seconds, you can change the delay in the plugin options. Even if you do not redirect failed logins, you can use this plugin to add a time delay after failed login attempts. This will discourage hackers from trying to hack into your site. The time delay helps to protect both the front-end and back-end logins - just use the default settings.
3) An option to enable/disable clearing of the page cache upon login failure. The default is set to "No" clearing. You can change this to "Yes" if you are using the system cache plugin (page cache) and your redirection messages do not appear because the page cache is showing a stale copy of your redirected page. |

| Description |
This joomla plugin helps you manage
failed login attempts in two ways:
1) You can choose to redirect failed
login attempts to another page on your
Joomla site, to a URL on a completely
different site, or not redirect at
all.
2) It helps protect against brute force
login attacks (both front-end and
back-end) by adding a programmable
delay after a failed login attempt. The
default delay is set for 10 seconds. You
can change the delay in the plugin
options. This delay will slow down a
hacker who is trying to gain access to
the front-end or back-end login via a
brute force login attack. The time
delay helps to protect your site even
if you do not choose to redirect failed
logins - just use the default plugin
settings.
